I have been playing this game for the past 2 years+ and it was a hell of ride.
After observing the loss of license for a while and not login for almost a week, I decided it's time to bid farewell to the community and end my association with this game.

I had spend quite a bit of money on this game (no real regrets) but fact is that I pay because of the NBA content. I would not have pay or even download the game if it was some generic fractional basketball game.

From this loss of license episode I can conclude that the game company is not doing a good job and I see no reason to carry on.

When I said this I'm not blaming FTB for losing the NBA license but it's the way how the company manage the loss.
Surely FTB is well aware that the license is expiring and the fact that they cannot agree to an renewal with NBA but what did the company do? Simply just remove the graphics and references to all NBA content and make this into a generic basketball game.

What did FTB do to console the gamers who put in sweat, time and money? Nothing. Well FTB could have given some goodwill gesture like XXX WoF contract renewal days or big package of coins to every customer. But yet we are still seening the same amount of money charge for some legend renewal when we no longer can see their faces and uses fake names. FTB needs to understand that people willing to pay $19.90 for chamberlain doesnt mean they are willing to pay $19.90 for a faked name chamertaint or something. Why charge the same amount when you no longer have the license?? Its like you walk into a car shop, the salesman tell you that the ferrari is no longer available but you can pay the same big amount for an unknown car >>> Tell me which idiot will do this?

I can't remember all the guys who I played against. But from the forum I remember @Roberto who had also voiced his frustrations. It's been a nice ride and good matches with u guys but I think it is time to bid farewell.

    @Jannz14,

    you're so very right.....they just don't know.

Why anybody, in possession of his mental faculties, would throw away in the bin 14,99 "discounted" * Euros for a nooneknowswhois player "K."?

    * the  full price of 99,93 Euros is put to show how much they are custom oriented with their offers......

    @All,

they lost the license and something else, our trust  and respect for sure.

Have they the cat in the bag, a breakthru in this minority game? Well, give us some information to justify the lack of everything else today....

I always wondered, since the spanish  are renown for their flexibility in working hours, why these benchers (they're spanish right?)  manage a "support" which is anything but a support: strictly 9 to 5 and long disappearances giving ridiculous excuses.

There is no future for NBA gm here......A game with players allegedly belonging to the USA basketball professional league (aka NBA) should be definitively run by americans, whose care for the customers is worldwide renown......

Job Experience Required for a General Manager in the NBA

An NBA general manager is responsible for player contract negotiations. Typically, the general manager also supervises the operations of the coaching staff, which includes the power to hire and fire coaches and coaching assistants. Their high-profile position is greatly scrutinized, especially when their decisions go against the desires and opinions of fans, sports journalists and even team members. Their role is ultimately financial, but it involves accurately predicting talent, navigating trades, and choosing the right coaches for the direction of the team.

    Interests and Skills

First and foremost, a general manager in the NBA must love basketball. He is responsible for crafting the team, so he should have an excellent understanding of how the game works, and that goes beyond knowing the rules. He should know how the business of the NBA is conducted and be comfortable working in high-pressure situations. He should also have a great mind for building and designing a potentially championship-winning team. General managers work with the often flamboyant or assertive personalities of NBA players, so being flexible and adaptable to players’ needs, while commanding the respect of the team, are essential skills that can be difficult to obtain through mere love of the game.

    Education

Many universities offer degrees in Sports Management or Sports Marketing. Some universities even offer advanced degrees such as an M.S. in Kinesiology or Ph. D. in Human Performance. This is a good background for those interested in marketing players as agents, then transitioning into general management. Obtaining an advanced degree in business or even a law degree can prepare interested individuals for the cutthroat negotiations process, but an education is secondary to having the proper connections and reputation. During the 2008-2009 season, only four general managers possessed advanced degrees.

    Background

Most general managers are former players or coaches. They have not only developed a thorough knowledge of the league, but they have cultivated relationships with teams and other players. Former players and head coaches also have built reputations in the NBA, which works to impress and persuade prospective additions to the team. An NBA general manager will recruit talent, so a quality reputation of good judgment can be a useful predictor of future success. Having experience in the NBA will improve a person’s ability to handle criticism as well, which in the volatile world of professional sports is crucial.

    Profile

With only thirty general managers in the NBA, the chances of becoming one are quite slim, and there is no single, verifiable path that ends in a general management position. Chris Grant, general manager for the Cleveland Cavaliers, started his career working in a shoe store. Kevin Pritchard, general manager for the Indiana Pacers, was a college star at the University of Kansas before playing in the NBA. To become a general manager, he worked in the minor leagues as a coach, taking a severe pay cut in the process. If you are considering a job as a general manager in the NBA, there is no clear-cut path. The rewards, however, are startling. NBA general managers have the highest salaries in all of professional sports.

@Jov machelen -- We understand your frustration but these multiple messages are starting to become very abusive and this goes against the Forum rules. We kindly ask you to refrain from this kind of behavior from this point on.

As we explained in the "Bugs & Technical Issues" thread, we have been receiving a large amount of messages and it's been difficult for us to keep up. As we've explained multiple times in the past to Roberto, we will explain the same to you and the rest of the users - We are not intentionally ignoring you or trying to not fix the issues you're bringing forward to us.

We do our best to reply to all users in the quickest way possible, however, there are also not enough hours in a day to do everything we would like to do. We do the best we can, and we kindly ask for your cooperation over the next few days as we work to catch up.

    Thanks,

    You know what?

I don’t like to be threatened or bullied here and in real life.

You will never change your ways because it’s how you run this business. You can keep this game exactly this way because there is still people who like to lose their time here waiting for...Godot ( who eventually never comes).

Bugs and flaws are always the same, and you’re not interested in solving them once and for all.

I’m leaving on my own will this forum because I don’t believe anything you say.

I’m uninstalling the game, which is useless and unplayable since you lost the license but was boring before because you refused any suggestions to improve the experience.

You don’t know the game because you don’t play it, of course you don’t love nba basketball either.

I salute all the managers here who played fair and square.

    Long live NBA!

Hi @Jov machelen -- We can assure you that our previous message didn't include any threats towards you or any other user. We were simply asking you to refrain from the kind of behavior you were showing in your multiple posts from the days before.

We understand that you're upset with the recent changes, as are we, however, without the NBA license, we have to make important changes to ensure that we're in compliance with their restrictions, even if this means that we have to make drastic changes which is what we did.

Regarding the suggestions, we always send your suggestions to the corresponding team to take into consideration. Keep in mind that suggestions are suggestions. That doesn't mean that we absolutely have to add everything suggested into the game. We take all of them into consideration and the team decides which might be a good idea to add into the game.

Regarding the bugs, you're right that there have been different bugs in the game lately. We're not always aware of all of them, which is why we also count on you guys to help report any issues we may not have seen. Our team is always working to resolve them as soon as possible. Keep in mind that we also have other games that we're working on and we cannot always fix everything in that moment. We're all doing the best that we can.

As we've mentioned before, we're still working to reach an agreement with the NBA so that we can bring the game back to the way it was as soon as possible.

    Roberto

Are you FTB aware that very soon, june 22nd, another company is going to release a game which appears to be the specular copy of this game (also without NBA licensed contents), that can be already previewed in the apple store?

I noticed, as shown in the next screenshots, that the developer is also a spanish company, which makes me think that there is a kind of “war” going on between you and someone who originally was part of FTB, claiming to sell the “same” product.

If so, it’s very possible that they are going to be your competitors in (re)gaining the license from NBA.

I think this eventuality should be known by all managers here……

So, is that company, with insiders allegedly formerly associated to you, a fair competitor?

I mean, it seems they will be using the same game platform (not the same layout, after the recent changes...)

Wow, I quit some months ago and wanted to see how NBAGM is going and now I am reading this.

@FTB: To be honest, you deserved that. I hope the NBA gave you some big tasks to get the Game to a level which is worth a NBA licence.

I am really happy that I moved on to NBA Live Mobile, less money more fun.

Seems like LAB CAVE GAMES SPAIN S.L just releases games for other companies to optimize revenues. FTB has to release the game now by another company to get a licence, wow.

The game isn't available any more in Google Play store. You will see it soon released by LAB CAVE GAMES SPAIN S.L.

Hi @Angelo Mauceri -- We're not quite sure what you mean by "You deserved that". We simply couldn't reach an agreement for the new season. It wasn't any kind of punishment. In any case, we're still working with them to reach a new deal as soon as possible. As soon as we have more information on that, we'll let you all know. Thanks for your understanding.

Regarding Google Play, we're experiencing issues in our account and that's why the game isn't appearing. It has nothing to do with any issues with the NBA or what you're assuming about LabCave.

@Manolin Prieto -- We always share your suggestions with the team to be taken into consideration for future versions, however, not all suggestions can be added into the game.

Umm.... Hello FTB? These name changes are confusing!! Who is who? You could help us and let us know that information. We don’t even know who represents who and who to purchase. If you change names for legal purposes then you should inform the consumer of what fictitious character represents what real player. Reason for this is that we don’t want to purchase a player on the day he gets injured and then the next day he’s out for weeks maybe months and then the points get adjusted to 0. This is an unjust and could possibly lead to legal action against FTB by the consumer because of our monetary investment in the game. So it would be in your best judgement to disclose this information. Thank you very much!

Here we go having a special tournament again for the conference semifinals without contract days awarded. What is going on FTB? Do you pick and choose what prize awards are given out? Why can’t FTB be consistent? If your going to put out a game stay consistent and not draw back on your prize awards.

That’s some good info but these prizes a very weak! Also not to mention the legends packs and the special pack you purchase with real money. Maybe FTB needs to get back to the drawing board.

Also with this new game set up does that include not having contract renewals for Legend players? I never see contract renewal negotiations for legend players.
